"The groups are organized, but not stuffy. Fun, but not silly."
Kim, single mom

Q. Where are your meetings?
A. All meetings are held at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library.

Q. Are the groups large? About how many people?
A. Groups are intimate – about ten moms.

Q. Is it just a bunch of women complaining?
A. No. Meetings are facilitated; meaning there’s not a lot of meaningless rambling.
The meetings are not therapy sessions and are similar to casual workshops.

Q. Will people ask personal questions?
A. No. Moms share as much information about themselves as they like. Usually, first names are exchanged. No one will ask you personal questions about your children, career, etc.

Q. How long are meetings?
A. Meetings last about an hour and half.

Q. Why can’t we bring our children?
A. The groups are not designed for single parent families, but for single mothers. Children – as cute as they are – disrupt and change the dynamic of the meetings. We want the groups to be informational, social, fun and relaxing.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Nothing. The meetings are free. In fact, you may leave with a gift. We have drawings and give-a-ways each month.

Q. Why do I have to RSVP?
A. Occasionally, we will have give-a-way items for each mom. It’s good to know how many are coming. Also, should something unforeseen occur and we need to cancel, we’d like to let you know.

Q. May I bring a friend?
A. Sure, the more the merrier! If the meeting gets too large, we may have two to keep our small, friendly atmosphere.
